According to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC, the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter “GDPR”) and Act 18/2018 Coll. on the Protection of Personal Data and on Amendments to Certain Acts, adopted by the National Council of the Slovak Republic, the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice (hereinafter “UVMP”) as the organizer of the conference “The Impact of Global Change on the Environment, Human, and Animal Health” (hereinafter “the Conference”), isresponsible for the processing of personal data you provide when you register for and attend the Conference.
This privacy notice is intended to inform you about the personal data processing we do and your rights.

Your personal data
By registering for the conference and attending it, you will provide to UVMP the following personal data and contact details: your name, surname, academic (or other) titles, signature, affiliation to an institution (including the country in which it is located), address for correspondence, telephone number, e-mail, your current educational level (applicable only to students and PhD students), dietary requirements (if applicable), bank account number (if applicable). Your photograph may also be taken during the Conference (for more information, please read the following section).
Purpose and lawfulness of processing your personal data
The main purpose of processing your personal data is to organize the Conference and enable you to participate.
The specific purposes and the lawfulness of processing of your personal data according to Article 6 of the GDPR are detailed in the table below:

* Photographs will be taken during the scientific programme, social programme and coffee breaks, which may feature group shots of event attendees. The photographer will be easily identifiable.
By confirming your participation in the Conference through registration, you are giving your consent to the Conference organiser (UVMP) to be photographed at the Conference and to publish the images which you are in on the website of the Conference, social media or in press releases, and to share the images with the third parties listed below. The images to be published or shared will be carefully selected. The images that are not needed will be deleted.
If you wish not to be photographed during the Conference, please inform us by sending an e-mail to the e-mail address: daniela.takacova@uvlf.sk prior to the Conference to arrange your opt-out options (e.g. sitting in the back rows). Feel free to contact us anytime during the conference.
** Where you provide us with any information on your dietary requirements in the online registration form, through e-mail or on-site, you consent for us to process this information for the purpose of providing you with suitable catering services.
Your personal data will not be used for an automated decision-making including profiling (Article 22 of the GDPR).
Sharing your personal data with third parties
Because the conference is co-funded by the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism (EEA and Norway Grants), UVMP is required to report on the Conference’s participation and grant spending, as well as provide relevant supporting documents for verification of expenses and results. This applies particularly to the conference attendance sheets, name lists, and photographs taken during the conference. For this reason, the personal data on the attendance sheets, i.e. your name, surname, affiliation to an institution (including the country in which it is located), and the photographs from the conference, which you may be in, will be shared with the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, Section of OPTA and Other Financial Mechanisms, EEA and Norway Grants Department, Pribinova 4195/25, 811 09 Bratislava, Slovak Republic, acting as the National Focal Point for the EEA and Norway Grants in Slovakia.
Retention of your personal data
In compliance with UVMP’s Internal Guideline No. 65 Registry Order of the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, the copies of bank statements with the data relating to the payment of registration fees will be retained for 5 years. All data used in documents sent to the National Focal Point for the EEA and Norway Grants (see third party above) will be retained for 10 years from closing of the project file (UVMP’s Internal Guideline No. 65) or for the duration of the Grant Agreement no. 4105/2022 concluded between UVMP and the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, whichever period lasts longer.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to your personal data that we hold, rectification or erasure of the data, restriction of their processing or their portability.
Any request to exercise one of those rights should be directed to the data protection officer of the data controller at the e-mail address: osobne.udaje@uvlf.sk .
If you feel your rights have been compromised, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic to initiate proceedings according to Section 100 of the Act 18/2018 Coll. on the Protection of Personal Data and on Amendments to Certain Acts, adopted by the National Council of the Slovak Republic.
